Come join the Ribble Rivers Trust on 16th April for a clean up along Pendle Greenway Event Description: We will be meeting at Pendle Greenway, towards the end of Churchill Way, Nelson where we will give a brief introduction to who we are and the purpose of the clean up at this site. We will follow Pendle Greenway downstream collecting litter along the way, cleaning up the local area. Our staff will be working from approx. 9:30 am to 12 pm, however volunteers can stay for as long or short as they like. Difficulty: Terrain is mostly flat, with solid paths to follow, however some sections of path are muddy so good footwear is recommended. We only expect volunteers to do as much as they can, and if you get tired out or have other commitments you are free to leave early. Therefore, this event is suitable for most people. What to bring: Please wear appropriate clothing for the weather, as well as suitable footwear like walking boots, walking trainers, or wellies. Depending on water level, there may be the opportunity to clear water in the shallow banking in the area. To help reduce the risk of bites, cuts and stings we also require volunteers to wear long sleeved tops and trousers. We also recommend bringing a drink to stay hydrated.
